Welcome Home!

Trinity United Methodist Church in the heart of the Evergreen Historic District of Midtown Memphis welcomes you to our website. We’re glad you dropped by for a “cyber visit.”

We hope that you will find here what you need to know about Trinity. This site is filled with information about our church family. In June, 2010, the church welcomed its new pastor, Debora Christiansen, who came to Trinity from Macon United Methodist Church.

We believe that you will experience the spirit of Trinity best by dropping by the church for a personal visit. We worship each Sunday morning in the sanctuary building on the corner of Evergreen and Galloway. Our services are at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. You can come by anytime, though, just to visit with the staff in the education building on the opposite corner of the intersection.

30 Hour Famine for World Vision.

On February 24 and 25th, the Trinity youth participated in the 30 Hour Famine for World Vision. Prior to the event, each youth solicited sponsor's to make financial pledges for every hour they went without food. We spent the 30 hours of fasting together. We gathered at Trinity Friday afternoon, learned about many of the causes of hunger, played hunger trivia games, and had evening worship before going to sleep (ha!). The next morning we packed up and headed to Manna House. We engaged in a local service project there. We did "spring cleaning" inside wiping down doors, window sills and trim. Outside, the youth raked, bagged up leaves, and piled up limbs. Next, the youth pulled the nine picnic tables out of storage and placed them around the backyard. Some rotten boards were replaced, painted, and all were wiped down. The youth also painted the back fence, and created a beautiful mural on the front porch. At the end of the project Rev. Christiansen brought communion to the Manna House backyard chapel where we broke the 30 hour fast.

The youth set their 2012 30 Hour Famine fundraising goal at $1,500. We are excited to report that we collected almost $2,000 ($1990)! All of the money will go to World Vision to feed hungry children and help end hunger. Thank you to all of the adult volunteers and to the many congregation members who pledged to support the youth!
