Vacation Bible School
Surfin' The Scriptures! (June 9-13)
Beach Party VBS 2008 is a blast! Your kids will visit an exciting beach where they will learn the basics of surfing, ride the wave of God's love, and go home with a new "Beach Be-Attitude."
Be obedient, be kind, be forgiving, be bold, and believe are the essential "Beach Be-Attitudes" that, through Surfin' Scripture teachings, will be the basis for your kids VBS beach outing.
Online Registration for Trinity's VBS is now closed. Our preschool room is at capacity, however, we are accepting registration for K - 6 at the church. For more information, please call 274-6895.
About Trinity's VBS
Each summer Trinity United Methodist Church offers Vacation Bible School to all children ages three to those entering the sixth grade. Children experience a week of fun and friendship while learning about God’s unconditional love.
Our Talented VBS Team
Trinity is fortunate to have many talented individuals on our VBS leadership team. For music and singing, children learn from one of Memphis’ best: Ms. Layne Baxter-Wilson who is the music teacher at Grace St. Luke’s Episcopal School.
Under the direction of longtime art teacher Whendy Merryman, children create beautiful crafts that will be cherished long after the summer is over. Last year, the children created a gorgeous ceramic tile and a colorful plexiglass ensemble.
Outside of VBS, Whendy also offers a variety of summer art camps at Trinity; for more information visit www.artstew.com.
Children relish the animated bible stories told by the gifted Charles Abraham who is a member of the Memphis Storytellers League.
Preschoolers at VBS
Our preschoolers are lead by Ms. Irene Dycus who has been the director of Trinity’s Preschool for more than 20 years. Preschool children create simpler crafts but fully participate in all VBS activities.
Our VBS Mission
Food for the Poor, Inc., Food for the Poor is an international Christian humanitarian aid organization that provides food, housing, medical services, education and ministry to poor people and families throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Thanks to the love and generosity of the children who attended VBS, we far-exceeded our goal of $600 and raised $870 for this important and vital mission.
